My first Arduino project, I built the wireless locator device to create an easy way for seniors, and by extension anyone, to locate their commonly misplaced items.
To build the transmitter (the top wearable component) and the receivers (the bottom small boxes or “tags”) I used Arduino Pro Mini’s (the smallest Arduino micro controller) and RF transmitters and receivers. The transmitter and receivers can communicate from a distance of up to 34 feet. Though the final product was a bit too bulky to be completely usable, the project taught me much about Arduino, and the concept of a wearable component will fit neatly into my PillBuddy platform as a wearable notification device.
